The Alphacool ice station expansion tank is extremely compact which is geared for the desired DDC pump. The pump is installed in the floor of the ice station and is not visible from the outside (Pump not included). The bottom of the ice station consists of a metal plate, which increases the stability of the ice station.
Mounting options
It is possible to screw the ice station on a 2.5 “mount for SSD hard drives. It is also possible to mount in a 3.5 “slot. The screw connection is carried out in both cases via the enclosed special decoupling screws. This minimizes the transmission of vibration to the enclosure and overall quieter operation. Another mounting option is an enclosed Velcro fastener. One part of the hook and loop fastener is simply glued to the bottom of the ice station while the other part is glued in the housing. Then the ice station only has to be pressed with the bottom onto the counterpart in the housing. The size of the Velcro ensures a secure position even during transport. The assembly can be done vertically and horizontally, as desired and space.
Connection
Options One IN and OUT with G1 / 4 thread can be found on the head side with the illuminated logo. You can change the color of the logo with the optional modding kit. The lid has a G1 / 4 “and a G3 / 8” connection. The G3 / 8 “connection facilitates the filling of the ice station due to the larger diameter and can alternatively be used as a lighting module for 5 mm LEDs. Two additional 5 mm LED squares are also found in the floor and illuminate the water-filled part from below.
A special highlight is the material choice of the ice station. The lower part is covered with a high-quality soft-touch surface, which gives an outstanding feel and look. The upper part and actual reservoir is not made of simple and fast breaking Plexiglas but made of extremely sturdy nylon. While normal reservoirs made of glass or Plexiglas can break or break even at small fall heights or improper handling, it is almost impossible to destroy the transparent container of the ice station.
